No worries, I've been pretty busy myself for the past few weeks. I did finally manage to get the structure of the scene I'm working on hashed out, and it's been going much better. I'm up to over 7800 words, and still counting ;D
Also, my ship is coming along nicely. I'll put an image in my profile when I finish it.

Hey everybody, sorry to have disappeared for so long. It suddenly occurred to me that I hadn't checked in here for quite a while, so here I am Just wanted to let you know that I'm still alive, and still working, although I've been bashing my head against a brick wall for several weeks now in terms of progress (or lack thereof).

Good to hear! (or maybe not haha) I'm still struggling with my personal stuff, but the good news is that I'm still playing in a band (with Ciss, no less!) and we have a gig coming up. We only need to play 10 minutes or so, but we still needed to write all the material. So at least I'm making music and spending time in the rehearsal space. It lifts the spirit somewhat.

Good to hear you're still struggling playing, man. I can't wait to listen to you guys!! ;D I've been struggling with work and other stuff too. Besides my old computer's HD gave up and I lost almost all my information, including the link to these forums. I started missing you guys a while ago so googled ORJ and I couldn't find anything... then I tried again and it was surprisingly easy to find (idk what happened the first time, it must've been me ) Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're fine, and still struggling (yeah, I'm glad about that too, the deal is not giving up ) I miss Cis a lot too, I lost contact with her a while ago when I had to close down my facebook account (due to some privacy issues ). I hope I'll find her online through msn one of these days. In the meantime, please give her a big hug from me Anyway, talking about things that lift the spirit, I have some news, I went to the music store the other day and I fell in love with this guitar, a couple of days later I came back to bring her home with me. Let me introduce you to my new girlfriend, my Fender Jaguar Blacktop: ;D I love this thing. It's nothing like the classig jag you'd use to play surf, but that's why I got it. It has a tune-o-matic bridge and two alnico V humbuckers. Powerful, but still with that unique Fender sound. Not to mention I just love the looks of it. It's pretty much the guitar I always wanted ;D

Wow!!!! I'm in love! Gotta love Jags! I was just about to comment on the humbuckers... so this is some kind of re-issue with humbuckers? It looks like a Jazzmaster! I have a Jag myself, but it's a re-issue of the classic single coil but even though it's a real Fender, it's a Japanese build, so unfortunately the material is really bad. My tremolo broke, my bridge is worn , it's practically unplayable. I was thinking about taking out the elements out and replacing them with humbuckers, but to be honest it's such a bad instrument that it's not worth the investment. One day I'll get me a proper vintage Jag. But this looks like a great alternative, especially since I love the humbuckers. Have you ever seen the Fender Duosonic, by the way? It's one of the few original vintage Fenders with humbuckers. My friend has one and it sounds like a dream. Anyway, congratulations with her, and also for having awesome taste! Did I ever show you guys my baby? ;D Cis says hi, by the way! Here's an idea: just get a secret alias for facebook, and pass it only to good friends! I don't think Cis uses MSN a lot anymore, so you guys will have to work something out. Maybe she can e-mail you?

Yeah, I absolutely love Jags, I’d like to have a vintage one someday too, but this one… it’s like if Fender had designed it especially for me. My baby is a new version, in fact these were just released last year. The humbuckers are only one of the “weird” features for a Jag (not to mention they are really warm sounding for a Fender and they have a pretty high output). Besides it has a stop tail piece instead of the classic Jag trem system and it only has a 3-way switch and master volume and tone controls, all the switches and controls of the vintage Jag’s are missing in this one. Some Jag fundamentalists hate that, but I actually like these features a lot, it’s obviously not a vintage Jag, but it doesn’t pretend to be one and I for one think it’s an amazing guitar, simplistic beauty, hehe. This series are made in mexico and I was really impressed with both materials, the craftsmanship and the sound quality of this guitar, it’s as good as an American Fender in my opinion. As you can see, I couldn’t be happier with it, hehe. Besides, I just love the 24 inch scale!! I’m surprised to hear what you say about your made in japan Jag… a friend of mine has one and it’s a great guitar. Maybe you got one from a bad batch or something. Either way, it’s surprising to hear that from a MIJ Fender. As for the Duosonic… I thought they only came with 2 single coils, I’ve never seen one with humbuckers, it must be really something! By the way, I did see your baby… man, I love that SG! I’d totally love to have one of those!! Well, I’d have tons of guitars if they weren’t so d**n expensive over here. As for the facebook account, that’s actually not a bad idea at all. I think I’m going to do that, thanks. I definitely need a way to stay in touch with Cis. I just need to come up with a cool name, lol. Of course she can e-mail me! You both are VIP’s to me Sorry about the lengthy message, it’s just I could talk about guitars and guitar related subjects all day, I can’t help myself, hehehe.

Hehe, it's cool. Of course we're way off-topic, but it's not like we're seeing lots of action here. For now at least. XP
I'm going on facebook with an alias as well. I also need to still make up a name, haha.

Hey everybody, just checking in again. Sorry I've been out of touch for so long, but things here have gotten a bit hectic in the past six weeks or so. Between some upheavals at work, a minor medical emergency in my family, and several ulcer attacks (including one that's kept me home from work for most of this past week), I haven't had much time or inclination to write. Things seem to be returning to normal around here, though, so hopefully I'll be able to take it up again before too long. When I last wrote, I was working on the final scene of Part III. It was giving me some trouble, but I think I just about had it worked out. It's going to be the longest story by far that I've ever completed when it's finished, and I look forward to letting you read it

Aw, sorry to hear about your misfortune. Ulcers are really nasty. My dad has had a whole lot of them... I'm a bit of a stomach patient myself, but fortunately I've never had an ulcer. (Fingers crossed)
Looking forward to your story!! How long is it? ;D
Also, I'm on a new laptop, and I just noticed (on this screen which is very bright) that the background image of this forum has some really visible copy-paste marks around some of the stars ... ehehe. I guess my old monitor is so dark, I couldn't even see that.
I'll need to fix it.

My monitor must be pretty dark too, 'cause I've never noticed it. As I write this, my story stands at 9,871 words and counting. I once made it past the 15,000-word mark, but ended up scrapping the project. This one, though, is turning out remarkably well. I did finally pick it up again after my last post and hammered out a few details, so I should be finished relatively quickly (as long as I can keep myself on task). My health is pretty much returning to normal. I'm still limited in what I can eat and drink, but as long as I don't press my luck, I'm alright. Ordinarily, I don't have any real trouble with it, but when I get tired and stressed out, everything sets off problems, and this past month and a half has been nothing if not stressful. But, it's beginning to wind down now, so I should be okay for the foreseeable future.
