A bit of old news made shiny and new - The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition! For those of you who don't know already, the Ultimate Sith Edition is a redux of the original game, adding extra content to the dark side ending of the game (missions that change the course of Star Wars history, such as a duel to the death against Obi-wan Kenobi on Tatooine) and, most importantly to me, a port to PC and Mac ;D. I'd heard a month or two ago that LucasArts was planning an updated re-release that was PC-compatible, but at the time, all I could find on a release date was "sometime this fall." Imagine my surprise when, as I was wandering through the electronics section of my local Wal-Mart today, there it was, large as life, right there on the shelf in front of me ;D. I haven't even installed it yet, but I must say, I'm definitely looking forward to it ;D. And, of course, I will provide a review as soon as I'm done

Well, here's the scary part: It takes over twenty-three gigabytes of hard drive space . As far as memory goes, that was only 2GB, which is fairly reasonable nowadays, and video seemed to be semi-decent as well. I can't recall the exact system reqs off the top of my head, but I'll get back to you on it. EDIT: Oops, never mind.

HD space isn't a problem. My HD is 250 Gb. The problem is I don't have a dual core processor, have only 1 GB of RAM, and I have the nVidia 6600, and it needs a 8800.

Don't feel too bad about it, Jos. I can't play it either Apparently, it's a quickly-done, rather sloppy port from console. The 23GB isn't actually as difficult to deal with as it sounds; I installed it in about forty minutes. What irks me no end is that the only configuration it allows is resolution adjustment, which must be done from a dialog box before the game actually launches (meaning that to change resolutions, you must first exit the program, then restart it). Even with the resolution dialed down to 800x600 (as low as it goes), the game is so choppy on my machine that it's nearly unplayable. Looks beautiful, but when you're playing in slow-motion and it takes over half an hour to advance less than halfway through a level, graphics quality becomes irrelevant. So, since I don't plan to sink money into a computer that's brand new, comfortably middle-of-the-pack spec-wise, and was about the limit of what I could afford anyway, I guess that's it. As a matter of fact, I believe I'll give up gaming almost completely for the foreseeable future. Having had similarly bad experiences with the last few games I've bought, it just seems like an excessively expensive pastime for being so hit-and-miss. Besides, if I really want an expensive vice, I can think of some that I'd have more fun at

So let me get this straight... your PC meets the system requirements but it still runs like crap? Bizarre.
I read about the configuration stuff on the internet, sounds really bad.
So to even be able to run it smoothly you'll simply need a very good pc. (Better than minimum specs)
The way it works with me is... I'm never able to play the latest games because I'm always a few years behind. I always get someone's old computer and then occasionally do some upgrades. But before you know it, it's outdated. So I basically play old games or ones that have lower system requirements.

Better than recommended specs, even, because I went with a higher-end video card specifically to avoid this kind of thing.
Guess I'll just have to stock up on reading material instead.

Better than recommended? Wow... that's incredible. Well, I happen to know this Star Wars RPG forum that needs a few characters for a soon to be started new chapter.

For people who want to play games on the computer..... MMO that all their is. FPS, RPG, Puzzel every other style of game but MMO is pretty much console. nVidia doesn't like this they have been thinking of releasing an awesome graphics card that is PC only to try and bring games back to the PC.... cause PC gaming is dead. Its only Ports, Startagey and MMO. With the occasional awesome release. There is even big problems with the MMO area cause World of Warcarft holds a domination. Other games come out and for the first month or two they are great and fun, but then their player base starts to go back to WoW. Leaving you with desert servers with no one on them. and World of Warcraft could afford to lose about 3/4 of its player base and still run functionally. I think that with SWOtR the MMO arena might have a chance. Because SWOtR is a Sci-Fi based game, based on an already established franchise that has done extremely well, it is also based on an Off Shoot of that franschise that did once again extremely well on the platform that the game is being released on. Along with the fact that World of Warcraft is starting to become outdated and stagnant. It has left its honey moon peroid and people are starting to want more from the game. and Blizzard seem to be moving slow to update. The next expansion will really make or break Blizzard's monopoly. in the other Gener's with great games such as GTA 4, Assassins Creed, Fabel 2, the Elder Scrolls Series (Oblivion) and Call of Duty. All available on Either PS3 (all but Fable) or X-Box 360 (all but GTA 4) there is little to no point in owning a Pc if you are into casual gaming, anymore... On another subject, I want to get towards the end of the prolouge in the RP so I can decied on how Pyro is going to finish up for this chapter and how I am going to start the next one!!!

Yeah, but I'm not buying a console... I use the same strategy as Jos. I don't even bother with new games, I just stay a few years behind and play the old ones.
I have a Core 2 Duo, but only 1 GB of RAM and just the onboard video card for now, so I better don't even try TFU for now...

I have Ultimate Sith Edition on my 360, only downside = no way to take advantage of source if it even is open source = no modding...
but I dont feel too bad, as so far there is no versus for the 360(/PS3 ugggh) version, and I'm hoping the PC port doesn't have one either (gasps with fingers crossed)
