www.swtor.comAs you may know, Star Wars The Old Republic[/b] is a MMO game from LucasArts and Bioware - the developers of the two Knights of the Old Republic[/b] games!!! The game is set 300 years after KOTOR when the Sith Empire has grown again and the Galatic Republic is again struggling for survival. Bioware are keen to promote that the game is story-driven - in addition to having the traditional MMORPG features of combat, exploration and character development. It sounds to me like it a fusion of both Galaxies and KOTOR. I'm looking forward to it! Although, no doubt there will be a monthly subscription... Still, the released wallpapers, screenshots and developers video clips make it look very promising! [I'm trying not to drool].

Yup, the game will probably be awesome, especially because it's story driven RPG (I love that), but the fact that it's MMO and that it will probably have a subscription fee will greatly reduce the chance that I'm going to play it.
It should be great though. ;D

I agree, the probability of a subscription fee is a major turn-off, but man, does it look cool ;D
You wouldn't happen to know what locations are depicted there, would you? I've been trying to identify them, but I've no way to be sure. The first one looks kind of like Alderaan, except for the forcefields in the background, the middle one looks like it might be Korriban, and the last one...I honestly have no clue. Maybe some kind of military installation or Jedi briefing room?

Tython is where the Jedi originally assembled the first Jedi Council,
in the budding days of the Old Republic, and is the planet the
Council, and indeed most of the Order itself, retreated to during
the glorious and long reign of the Sith Empire in the Republic's
capitol city of Coruscant.
I myself will be rooting for the Sith (of course, story-wise, they
will eventually lose, but i can have my fun, right?), and i'm more
than certain there will be plenty of unlikely alliances through-
out the game.

Trailer ! Looks freaking awesome, too bad it's only a cutscene and not actual gameplay. But still! ;D Also, I heard there's NOT going to be a monthly subscription fee for this MMORPG! Instead, you can buy optional stuff like clothes for your character with real cash. It's better I guess. At least you can play the game all the way through without having to pay anything besides the original purchase. Source
