Yeah, I've seen it in stores, but not bought it because I'd rather have the whole thing than bits and pieces. My understanding is that they'll be releasing a similar four-episode DVD later in the year, called 'Clone Commandos' (which is a misnomer, IMO. There are not in fact any commandos in the entire series as far as I can tell, at least if you're only counting Republic Commandos, like I am).

Correct, Republic Commandos as such haven't been in the series, so far.
It has been officially confirmed that they will release the whole of season 1 though. But we'll have to wait until the fall.
I just don't get why they are releasing these DVDs with only a few episodes. It doesn't make sense at all.

Season 2 is underway! ;D I think so far they are keeping the same quality we saw in the first season, and I just found out that Lucas said "there will be at least 100 episodes produced.", which means 5 whole seasons! ;D I like to see that Cad Bane is gonna have a pretty big role, at least for the next couple of episodes  |

Yup!
I've seen the first three episodes of Season 2 and I must say it's already twice as good as anything from season 1, in my opinion that is.
Cad Bane is one hell of a character! For once they have a bad guy who's actually winning. I love how he outsmarts the good guys all the time. In season 1 I found myself feeling bad for Grievous all the time, haha.

I have just started watching season one up to episode 9, I am really enjoying it, getting great ideas from the action sequences, and so far my favorite episode is Rookies. But then I am a sucker for that whole clone inderviduality thing, and clones kicking ass.

Yeah, Rookies is great. Gotta love an episode that focuses only on the clones. The Commando Droids are awesome as well.
Season 2 just finished. I thought that especially the first half of season 2 was really good. The latter half was ok, but it had a number of episodes that were overt homages to certain classics like Seven Samurai, Godzilla, Hunt for Red October etc. Not to say that those were bad, but they felt a bit like fillers because they didn't have a lot to do with the war.
Overall, season 2 is darker and has better villains than season 1. The problem with the Clone Wars is that there are different writers and directors for every episode, so the quality of writing varies a bit.
Another complaint people have is that while there are story arcs that last 2 or 3 episodes, there isn't really an ongoing story element that runs through all the episodes. Season finales would be more climactic if they did. Another problem is that the episodes aren't aired chronologically. So, one episode might be a year and a half into the war, and the next might be one month after the Battle of Geonosis... However, in season 2 certain 'seeds' were planted that will come to fruition in future episodes, I'm sure. Some of that has to do with Ahsoka and Anakin, some of it with Cad Bane, some of it with the Mandalorians, etc.
